Free Anti-Racist Resources from BrainPop

In one of my earlier weekly anti-racist posts I mentioned that BrainPop has an excellent video, “Black Lives Matter.” They have just updated their resources for anti-racism education, and now have a series of free videos for Kindergarten and up. For the younger students, you can begin with watching animated videos of Black activists like Harriet Tubman and Ruby Bridges. Around 4th grade, you can transition to stories about institutionalized racism, like Reconstruction, and use included discussion prompts. With 18 free animations, this can help you to guide students in understanding what is going on right now – and how we got here.
