February 18-24th is National Engineers Week here in the States. Since my 2nd graders have been studying bridges, we did an activity from the Building Big website, which is still one of my favorite resources when we talk basics about man-made structures. Yesterday’s activity was one I had never tried with a class before, the Suspension Bridge activity. Despite prepping everything ahead of time, I went through my normal roller coaster of emotions during the lesson.
Fortunately, all groups eventually got their bridges built, and they were fascinated with the weight the suspension bridges could carry compared to the beam bridges. I would definitely do this activity again for the wow factor!

Penny rocket no one is given anything when it comes to the QB position. Certainly not an unproven QB like Bridge at that. Collaros has proved he can get a team to the Grey Cup. And not for a bad penalty away from the play in the last minute of the game of a Speddy B punt returned for a TD. Collaros would be a Grey Cup Champion. All QBs will be at Camp. The QB that proves they are worthy of starting job. Will be given the starters position. To think that any team is just going to give the start to Bridge because he has potential is not smart football thinking. Truthfully Bridge has to learn how to run the plays and allow them to develop. Right now Brandon has happy feet. Starting QBs can not have happy feet. He needs time to mature. He will mature and he will get there. He just needs time. Not at the expense of a teams Wins.
