Now, if you don’t know by now that I adore Kid President, you need to see this post, and, well, pretty much any of these. That is why I was so excited to find that We Are Teachers is offering a set of free Kid President printable posters here. And I just got my own laminator, so I am going to be making good use of it. (I never knew I wanted to laminate so many things until I got this little gadget!) By the way, We Are Teachers has a lot of other sets of free printables that you can find here, including 5 free kindness posters which I’m ready to laminate and post anonymously in numerous public places or maybe just hire a plane to drop like leaflets all over the country…
“An Open Letter to Moms” is a Kid President video that would be perfect to show your students right before they work on their Mother’s Day gifts. In fact, you could even have your students make a video themselves 🙂
In Kid President’s most recent inspirational video, he invites all of us to “upgrade the world.” What are some ways we can do that? Be awesome to everyone around us, donate to a local shelter, and help animals are some of his suggestions. But, as we know, there are many more upgrades the world could use. So, share this video with as many people as you can, and challenge them to discover ways they can make a positive difference in this world. Teachers, this would be a great way to start the second semester, and a good introduction to Genius Hour/Passion Projects!
For more ideas on what we can do to make this world a better place, check out this Pinterest Board of Inspirational Videos for Kids. Be sure to tweet out the upgrades you personally make with #DoGreatThings!
With all of the political shenanigans going on in the world today, it’s comforting to know that we have a completely non-partisan president who is more concerned with dancing than making newspaper headlines – Kid President.
If you want to give a gift that will inspire and make its recipient laugh, Kid President’s Guide to Being Awesome is the perfect book.
You could also watch this fun promo video for the book, starring Kid President as himself.
Do yourself a favor if you buy this book, and read it along with the child/ren you choose to favor with this gift. It will be much more meaningful if it’s shared.
There are a few more pieces of KP merch available here if you are interested in pairing your gift with a shirt or poster.

Apparently, Kid President is a bit awkward when it comes to girls. He doesn’t really understand them. So, his latest campaign is a request for tweets, images, etc… celebrating awesome girls with the hashtag #kpawesomegirls.
I know so many awesome girls! But I’m careful about putting my students and my daughter on social media. So here are some of my awesome girl shout outs to some of the incredible women (and 1 man) in my life:
I’m going to try to tweet some more in the next few days. Because wow! I know a lot of awesome girls!
As usual, Kid President has the right idea. What do kids really want when you go on vacation? (Hint: Water slides and money to spend on tacky souvenirs would not be the right answer.)
